My final advert for the new product called ” Bote”

Finally i have finished my model, probably need to just adjust it here and there. I am now rendering my images so that i can use it to create my final Advert for my A2 Page… Once again i am trying various ways to render my image as well as to make the scene look different.

I am still in the process of creating my final model in Cinema 4D but so far i have created a simple model using an image of my model. Below is a screen shot of how far i am towards completing my final model.  Still few more things to do with my computer work such as the animation and my presentations. But it will be done once i have completed my final model.

Another image is of how far making i am for my final model, It needs to be done in one week as after the holidays i will be getting ready for my end of year show.

This brief here had told us that we needed to produce a 3D model of our mudeford chair. I had to design a chair in which i had used various different programmes to create my final concept. I needed to use the skills which we had learned in the computer lesson.

To create my final model i had done a technical drawing, with this technical drawing i needed to import the file to Photoshop.  I scanned this in Photoshop then imported it onto Cinema 4D. I had created it as a background to help me create my chair by using it as a guide line. Once I had imported the image i needed to C4D, i then needed the splin tool to create the outline around the chair. I had done a vague outline in the beginning but then when i had realised that some points were not correct, meaning i had to zoom in to the image to alter the points to make sure that when i rendered the image it was as smooth as i could get it. The splin tool enabled me to create the series of points to make the side panels of my chair. After creating the side panels using the splin tool, i had to make sure that the panels had some form of thickness to it i had to use the extrude nurbs. For the splin i created i had to drop the splin into the extrude nurbs so that it would create thickness to the side panels. I had to change a few of the settings to make sure that the thickness was how I wanted it to be i also added a fillet to make the edges rounded. After one side panel was created i just duplicated the layer in order to create two. After the side panels I needed to create the slats of the chair, this is where it took me longer to create as it was a lot of copying and pasting. I had to use a rectangle to see where i had to place my slates, but the effect I wanted wasn’t happening this is where i had to use the Boole tool to create the image that that section of the wood had been cut out. After placing each Boole where i wanted it to be, i had to then copy that Boole to create the slat which when in that specific place. By doing this it had created a more realistic look to how the slats fitted on my chair. I then repeated each step to complete the whole chair. I also added a wooden material to create more of a realistic look to my chair; I went through various types of wooden shades but had only found one which suited the best. I had to place this material to each layer I had by dragging it from the material section. Once I have created the full model with the rendered materials I then placed it into a group and labelled it “chair” so that all my layers would not get confused with other layers. To add the finishing touches to my model and what scene it was in I put planes on the floor instead of using a floor which was on the presets. To create the final touches I also had to use global illumination to create the lighting and to give it a more realistic look. Furthermore I added a sky with a material with the colours. The texture of it was gradient and had colours such as blue, purple, and a pink orange colour. Once I was happy with the colour and lighting of my scene I then rendered up the image.

My animation was done with a mixture of programmes such as Cinema 4D and Adobe after effects. First of all i had used the camera in C4D. When in Cinema 4D I had to keep the 3D Model of my chair in the scene as it already was there. I had to think of how I wanted my image to distort or to break up. I chose to use the fracture object and the random effecter afterwards so that I had two style distortions happening at the same time. After that I had to use an OLX plug in to use as my camera for my animation, which already had a path to view it. But what I had to do was I had to set a start point and an end point I had to adjust both points to set it how I wanted it to. Once I was happy I had chosen the setting size to finally render my animation, and the resolution was 480x270pixels. And the resolution 72DPI. Once I had finished with final render settings I had rendered the animation, It had rendered for about more than 12-14hrs because I had left it to render over night. When it was fully rendered I had taken the QuickTime file into a programme called Adobe After effects. I had brought it into the programme to add the other features for my animation. I had added text that would tell them about my chair with the name in a simple Helvetica text. I adjusted the time length to make sure that my animation was around about 10seconds long. Once I was happy with the duration of my animation I had saved it as a QuickTime file. Then I uploaded it on to my vimeo account as well as youtube so that I could put it onto my blog.

When I had started on my A2 presentations I used Adobe Photoshop to do my work. But before bringing the images into Photoshop I already had a rendered JPEG image from Cinema 4D. I had a few images rendered up already so I had brought that into Photoshop. I had re-arranged the images to create a layout that I was happy with. I copied and pasted three zoomed in images of my chairs to show focal points. I had also used the “Rule of third” to layout my final A2 Presentation. I had used the one image that i had cropped

Each stage of this process for me was a slight challenge but the ending of all of this such as the animations was where i had started to find it difficult, but by using tutorials it had made life easier for me. My final design was very easy to model and produce in 3D because it was an idea where it was not too complicated and I used simple shapes and i also tried to find the simplest way to model my chair. I did not stick to the planner I had created because I was two weeks behind, but in the last three weeks I had produced each section of the brief which was supposed to be produced. The whole project for me was good because I love using the programmes such as Photoshop and Cinema 4D to present my work. And now knowing how to use the basics on Adobe after effects will make my animation skills much better, and give it that added different look to my work.

I shall be designing a product  for Chessington World of Adventure which will be aimed at children.

The product will be a bottle/flask for children to have and carry around the park for their drinks.

When going on a trip to the theme park i had taken a few pictures of what i could use as a form of inspiration to help me design my product. I am slowly getting there, slowly producing research and getting more and more ideas as i take notice of what types of products are already out in the market.

Something basic for my research pages, this is only my first few pages. but soon enough it will be more better as i will show the places i can design for.

This has finally worked i have had to find various ways to upload my animation onto this blog of mine. To create this i had used various programmes such as Cinema 4D and Adobe After effect. This had taken a while to create but it was done and i am proud of it, sadly no music but i was just experimenting on the After effects programme

These points here are such key points to producing a design. And I defiantly will be using this when producing further designs.

its just another update to the progress of my chair. nearly there. just a few bits left to do then i am finished. from a few weeks ago, i have now nearly finalised my chair.
